1

1

Start with a flat quarter.

2

2

Cut the fabric in half.

3

3

Cut one of the halves about 1/3 of a way down. This will become the opening of the bag.

4

4

Fold the inside edges of what will be the opening and sew to create a finished edge. Add some decorative trim if you'd like.

5

5

A close up of the last step, finished edge and trim.

6

6

With right sides together, place the 2 halves together and pin. I placed the opening sides together so they were touching but not overlapping. This creates a bit of extra at the top, but don't cut it off, you'll use it later. Sew together the 2 sides and the bottom, leave the top open.

7

7

Turn bag right side out and press.

8

8

Now fold over the extra you had at the top, press and sew to create a finished edge.

9

9

Close up of top edge.

10

10

Fold over approx 3" from the top and press. Add button holes.

11

11

The center of my button holes are about 1.5" in from the edge.

12

12

Cut open button holes and sew on buttons. I am using clear buttons, but put black ones on here to make it easier to see. They give it a monster like effect don't you think?

13

13

The finished bag can hang directly on the clothes line.

14

14

Or on a child sized hanger. Voila!
