I think about posting every night, really I do.
But my laptop is still broke ( I brought it to the shop and they said it would cost $400 to fix it which included a $69 fee for 'checking it in' so I am just going to check it in myself) and it's hard to work at the desktop at night for various reasons I wont go into here.
So here I am again and here's what I've been up to lately...
I've taken a few more of Bubba's drawings and stitched them up on to muslin. I'll be making them into cute little lunch bags this week.

I filled in the eyes on the little guy there which is, I think, a little creepy. So I left the others open as they were in the original drawing. Never doubt the designer, especially when he's a 5 year old.

I LOVE that tree.
Also I got my new sewing machine up and running so here are some baby blankets that are long overdue gifts for 2 friends...
My little seed collecting from my garden annuals. I am trying to learn how to save seeds and not spend so much at the nurseries next year.

That's a LuckyChicken I stitched up one afternoon looking over my seeds.
The picture is so yellow because of the crappy light in the kitchen, but no more! Our dear friend came over and hooked up a new kitchen fan/light. It took her forever, but the light will be good now, thanks Cruz!
Speaking of the kitchen, it's coming along. This is the right color for the walls...

(please do ignore the amazing piles of stuff on the refrigerator and in the dining room behind)
And yesterday I started stripping the door to the bathroom that is off the kitchen. We decided that if we put another coat of paint on it, the door wouldn't shut right and the paint that was there was all cracked, so it had to be done. The wood underneath is beautiful, I have had doubts about repainting it but unless I want to strip the all the woodwork in the house it needs to be painted.
The stripping is taking forever! Much like my little cabinet, there is a weird off white layer of paint that doesn't respond to my 5F5 and goops up instead of bubbling up nicely like it is supposed to. This results in an awful sticky substance that is super hard to get off. I wonder if it's an oil base or maybe there is some lead in there. Either way it's going to be a while before you see the after pictures of this one. So here are some in progress...
Here you can see the door before I began, note the cracks in the paint.

And this is a close up of the 5F5 on it. See the white paint all bubbling up, that's what it is supposed to do, but the layer underneath somehow magically resists it. Ugh!

And finally, another gratuitously cute puppy photo. Buddy is getting big and he is such a joy!
